  • Organizing a sentence
  • Organizing a paragraph
  • Fostering empathy
DETAILED PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

After seeing too many thank you notes that are too short, too vague and too impersonal, we decided to create any easy to follow pattern for showing gratitude.

This downloadable set of How To Say Thank You templates uses pictoral icons to help kids remember just what to include in a thoughtful "thank you!"

For example, kids will learn to:

  • Start with a greeting
  • Say "thanks for the (specifc item)" -- not just "the gift"
  • Describe 2 things they like about the gift
  • Describe how they will use it, or where they'll put it
  • Give a compliment
  • ...and end with a closing!

There's a separate template for thanking someone for their time. For this, students will learn to think about:

  • How the person changed their experience for the better
  • How the person's gift of time made them feel

Writing thank you notes is more than an exercise in writing! It's also learning to have empathy, taking perspective, and being kind.
