Use this tool to guide your students to notice which panels of a graphic novel are about SETTING versus which ones are about CHARACTER. Read first, noticing clues about these story elements from words only; read a second time, noticing clues from images only. This strategy aligns with the Visual Thinking Strategy and builds visual literacy, inferencing, describing, reading body language/facial expression skills, and more!
