What you get
Not a workshop.
An experience.Story Stage designs every element — prompts, activities, and performances — around your content. We bring the framework, the facilitation, and the energy. You bring the space.
01
Custom-to-you programming
Every prompt and activity is built around your exhibition, collection, or curriculum. We work with your team to translate your themes into storytelling that truly resonates.
02
Multiple stations. All day. No bottlenecks.
Simultaneous engagement stations run throughout the day — so large groups move through with ease, and every kind of participant finds their place.
03
Their work becomes the show
Stories created by participants go into a Performance Box. Our actors pull them at random and perform them live — often with the original author invited on stage. That moment is unforgettable.
We amplify what you already do
Good programs get even better.
"We want school groups to do more than move through the galleries."
We build deep engagement into your content. Themes, prompts, and activities are drawn directly from your exhibition — so Story Stage feels like a natural extension of what your educators already do brilliantly.
"We want participants to remember this experience long after they leave."
Everyone creates something. The feedback loop — write a story, see it performed — is deeply motivating. Participants don't just observe your space; they become part of its story.
"Teachers need programming that connects to actual standards."
We understand how engagement works. Our activities target narrative structure, emotional vocabulary, and oral expression — all ELA and SEL aligned. Founded by educators, backed by Mind, Brain & Education research.
"We need enrichment that works for a wide range of learners."
Multiple entry points. One experience. Create, collaborate, perform, or watch — every participant has a meaningful role. No one is on the sidelines.
"Kids today struggle to hold a real conversation. We want to actually help."
That's exactly what we do. Every Story Stage experience builds the real-world communication skills that kids — and the adults who care about them — are asking for most.
The day, step by step
How a Signature Event Day works
1Before your event
We design around you
Story Stage collaborates with your team to build custom prompts, story starters, and themes drawn directly from your content and goals — so everything feels native to your space.
2Morning: Create
Simultaneous stations invite participants to write, draw, and collaborate. Stories go into the Performance Box. Energy builds all morning.
3Afternoon: Perform
Stories are pulled from the box and brought to life by Story Stage actors — sometimes with the original creator invited up to join them on stage.
4Everyone leaves a storyteller
Stories are returned to their creators. Every participant leaves with something they made — and something they'll remember.
Three ways to work together
Choose your level of involvement.
